Off Course – stepping out of your golf shoes and into a pair of Naot sneakers

Blah, blah, Naot, blah, blah, blah

That’s what I heard out of my wife’s mouth.

She has some definite opinions on brands that she loves and sometimes she goes on and on (and on and on) about them. I’ve been hearing her talk about Naot shoes for…I can’t tell you how many years. Of course, I had no idea that they made men’s shoes and sneakers as well as women’s, so when she mentioned that she wanted us to create a his and hers Naot post on her Champagne Living site I figured that I’d find out what all of the fuss was about.

And NOW I KNOW

This is why I decided that I should tell my golf buddies about a pair of sneakers that are so comfortable that I even wear them around the house (FYI – I am usually barefoot in the house because I hate wearing shoes).

Meet the Naot Galaxy

Zippy picked these out without asking me, and because she knows both the brand (and me) so well, I trusted her. She knows that I go walking daily, so I need a pair of sneakers to slip on to do my mile, and she knows that I can’t WAIT to get my golf shoes off after a round because I find them heavy and after being in them for 18 holes, they become torture.

These Naot Galaxy’s are perfect to tuck into your duffle bag to change into before walking into the clubhouse. I keep them in my duffle bag right on the golf cart, so I can slip into them immediately after playing.

I must say that the Galaxy sneakers are out of this world comfortable (aptly named).

I’ve had lightweight knit sneakers before, but never with a footbed like this! The Galaxy has a removable cork & latex footbed that provides all-day comfort, and the cork + latex creates a lightness that I’ve not found before in other sneakers. With a 1.5″ slip-resistant sole the Galaxy uses a hand-sewn Strobel construction making it strong and extremely flexible, so much so, that I’ve taken to wearing them at the driving range as the added motion that I can get from the flexibility means a better SWING for me.

Sizing

I normally wear an 11.5 WIDE. While these shoes only come medium width, sizing up on half size to a 12 provided enough give in the shoe to allow for the width of my foot. The fabric is incredibly forgiving for a wider foot anyway, and I found them to be sized just right making that little adjustment.

At 70 years old I need the support

Being able to add an orthotic to a sneaker is also important to a lot of us who are on the older side. The Men’s Galaxy has a removable footbed and is orthotic friendly, and they are also slip-resistant for more stability when walking.

Vegan and foot healthy

Galaxy sneakers are vegan and for those of us who suffer from foot and back pain, these are American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) accepted for promoting good foot health.
